Syroco strengthens its presence in the French maritime ecosystem
Marseille, August 26, 2020 - Syroco, the scientific and technical laboratory that generates innovation through pioneering achievement, announced today that it has joined three major organisations in the French maritime ecosystem, Cluster Maritime Français, Pôle Mer Méditerranée and ZEBOX, in order to accelerate its development in the maritime transport sector.
A strong reputation in the local entrepreneurial ecosystem
Since its inception, Syroco has been supported by risingSUD, the economic development agency of France’s Région Sud, which musters its expertise and places innovation at the heart of its action to serve the development and the transformation of industries. Jean-François Royer, Managing Director of risingSUD, indicates: “Syroco is an ambitious project in terms of innovation and growth trajectory. We are happy that the startup has chosen Région Sud as its home port, for our region is naturally attractive to any player in the maritime and logistics domain.”
Syroco also has a strong foothold in the entrepreneurial and startup ecosystem. The co-founders of the startup have been involved for many years in support systems and professional organizations such as Axeleo, France Digitale, La French Tech, TECH IN France, The Galion Project.
Alex Caizergues, CEO and co-founder of Syroco, confirms: “Founded in Marseille, Syroco has strong roots on the Mediterranean coast and in the southern region. Our research laboratory specializes in innovative projects in the field of maritime transport and energy. It is therefore natural for us to get closer to key players in these industries and in this territory.”
Three new partners to accelerate development
Contributing to the development of links between the maritime world and the ecosystem of hypergrowth technology startups, Syroco is now joining three new organisations in the maritime ecosystem in order to accelerate its development in the field.
- The Cluster Maritime Français (French Maritime Cluster), which brings together over 430 players from the maritime ecosystem, ranging from industry to maritime services.
- The Pôle Mer Méditerranée (Mediterranean Sea Pole), accredited as a global competitiveness cluster since 2005, brings together and supports startups, SMEs, corporates, research and training organizations around several strategic fields.
- ZEBOX, the incubator and international accelerator for innovative startups, founded at the initiative of CMA CGM’s CEO Rodolphe Saadé. The acceleration program joined by Syroco supports projects with high technological potential, helping them use technologies for the energy transition in the transportation domain.
