Job Overview
As the CFO of Syroco, you will be a pivotal member of the Executive Team, steering the company’s financial strategy and operations. Your role will encompass financial planning, risk management, fundraising, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. You will collaborate closely with the CEO and other senior leaders to drive Syroco’s mission of decarbonising maritime transportation.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Leadership:
Develop and implement financial strategies that align with Syroco’s mission and growth objectives. Provide insights and recommendations to the executive team on financial performance and strategic initiatives. - Financial Planning and Analysis:
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to SaaS and Impact, ensuring data-driven decision-making. - Fundraising and Investor Relations:
Lead efforts to secure funding through venture capital, grants, loans, and other sources. Maintain transparent communication with investors and stakeholders, presenting financial reports and strategic plans. - Risk Management and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards. Implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and manage financial risks. - Operational Efficiency:
Optimise financial operations, including accounting, payroll, and financial systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support Business Development, Human Resources and Operational Excellence.
Qualifications
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial leadership roles.
- A strong experience in transaction services.
- Proven track record in fundraising and managing investor relations.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a startup environment, particularly in scaling operations.
- Familiarity with SaaS technology, dynamics of the maritime industry, and Impact/ESG indicators.
- Proficiency in financial management software and tools.
