Key Responsibilities
- User-Centric Approach: Conduct user research and leverage data collected from various sources to inform design decisions that enhance user satisfaction.
- Collaborative Design: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and understand user requirements. Pick up the Design System’s development to speed up prototyping, bring coherence and improve collaboration.
- Prototype Development: Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate design ideas effectively.
- Agile Methodologies: Bring hands-on experience with one or more Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban), and a willingness to adapt to evolving processes. We currently use Shape Up for our product development cycles, so familiarity with (or eagerness to learn) Shape Up is a strong plus.
- Feasibility Assessment: Balance creativity with practicality by understanding technical constraints and ensuring designs are implementable.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest design trends and technologies to continuously improve the user experience.
Qualifications and Experience

- Agile Proficiency: Strong understanding of Scrum or other Agile methodologies; familiarity with Shape Up frameworks is a plus.
- Technical Collaboration: Ability to work closely with engineering teams to understand technical limitations and possibilities.
- Web Integration: Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React is a plus
- User Research Skills: Proficient in conducting and applying user research to drive design decisions.
- Feature Flags / A/B Testing: Some experience or familiarity is considered a bonus.
- Tools: Proficiency in Figma or Adobe XD, Mixpanel or other product analytics tools are a must.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in the maritime or leisure marine industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
