Knutsen deploys Syroco Live across its LNG tanker fleet

Marseille, France - 13 January 2026 - Knutsen LNG France expanded its partnership with climate tech specialist Syroco after deploying its AI-powered voyage optimisation and weather routing software across a fleet of 16 LNG tankers. The move supports the objectives of Knutsen LNG France, a subsidiary of Norwegian shipping company Knutsen, to boost efficiency and safety in navigation across its fleet while adhering to the strict operational constraints of LNG carriers and the requirements of several charter party agreements.

Initial deployment on four tankers

The collaboration began in 2024 with the installation of Syroco Live on four LNG carriers. The initial phase demonstrated the platform’s ability to support consistent voyage execution, enhance decision making for crews and shore teams, and integrate effectively into daily operations. Based on the results, Knutsen steadily expanded the deployment across its fleet.

Knutsen’s LNG fleet is chartered by a diverse range of energy companies, each with specific expectations regarding voyage execution, energy management, reporting, and compliance. Syroco Live supports this operational complexity by providing transparent, consistent, and reliable performance monitoring that helps ensure alignment with charter party obligations while optimising day-to-day operations.

Syroco Live delivers real-time voyage optimisation for each vessel while fully respecting the operational constraints inherent to LNG shipping. These include cargo-related requirements, weather exposure, and speed and power limitations. By combining accurate performance models with real-time operational data, the platform enables informed decisions that balance efficiency, safety, and contractual compliance.

In addition, Syroco Live contributes to the safety of navigation by improving situational awareness and supporting operational decisions that remain within defined safety and performance limits, particularly in challenging weather and sea conditions.
