A Season of Recognition, Collaboration and Impact for Syroco
As the maritime industry accelerates its journey toward decarbonisation, this Spring has been a particularly dynamic and productive period for Syroco. Over the past months, our team has actively participated in numerous conferences, forums and debates across Europe.
These encounters allowed Syroco to engage with decision-makers, present our innovative voyage optimisation solution, and contribute to the global dialogue on sustainable shipping.
This post provides some insight on major milestones over the past few months.
Awards & recognition
A major highlight of the season was Syroco’s recognition at the Hamburg Maritime Forum, where the company received The Maritime Technology Award, acknowledging its contribution to innovation and sustainability in the maritime sector.
In addition, Syroco’s CEO, Alex Caizergues, participated in a high-level panel discussing actionable decarbonisation strategies, alongside prominent industry leaders.

Engaging with global regulatory bodies
Syroco was honoured to be part of the French delegation at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) headquarters in London, during the 83rd session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee. This presence reflects Syroco’s commitment to supporting the global regulatory framework, an essential aspect of driving maritime decarbonisation.
During this session, a model of the Neoliner Origin, one of the first French wind assisted commercial cargo vessels was presented by French Minister for Transportation Philippe Tabarot to IMO Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez. This gesture supported by Wind Ship symbolised France’s commitment to innovative, low-carbon maritime transport.

Joining global maritime leaders
Syroco has recently become an Associate Member of two of the most prestigious shipping shipping associations in the world, INTERTANKO and BIMCO.
In line with these memberships, the Syroco team were glad to join BIMCO to celebrate its 120th anniversary in Copenhagen, and to engage with global tanker operators at INTERTANKO’s annual tanker event in Oslo.

Nor-Shipping 2025
Nor-Shipping in Oslo is one of the industry's flagship events. Spending 4 days there and attending multiple conferences and networking evenings, Syroco was glad to contribute to key discussions on maritime innovation.
The team was also proud to bring home the Nor-Shipping Cup 2025 in the X-35 One Design class, a symbol of the team’s competitive spirit and collaborative mindset. A fantastic crew, manned by Syroco staff and several of our customers and partners, was the key to this victory.

Broadening International Dialogue: Key European Events
Beyond the few key milestones highlighted above, Syroco has participated in other major industry gatherings across Europe including:
- Global LNG Forum in Barcelona
