Unveiling of the Syroco Speedcraft Prototype

Earlier this month, we had the privilege of unveiling our speedcraft prototype at the Monaco Yacht Club, during the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge.

The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge is an international challenge which welcomes students and professionals from all over the world to stimulate the creativity of tomorrow’s engineers and the industry to develop propulsion methods using clean energy. Syroco’s CEO Alex Caizergues was honored to be invited to be a member of the jury of this challenge. Therefore, could we think of a better setup to reveal our concept to the world?

On July 9th at 11:30 sharp, Alex was introduced to the audience by Bernard d’Alessandri, General Secretary & Managing Director of the Yacht Club, who reminded participants of the commitment of the Principality toward greener and sustainable maritime transportation. Alex took the stage and after a few words on the genesis and values of Syroco, explaining how the speed record ‘moonshot’ is being tackled, he removed the drape hiding the prototype.

Syroco speedcraft unveiling

Reaction from the audience was enthusiastic! And this made the Syroco team very proud - of course the lucky ones who were in the room to support the unveiling, but also the balance of the crew who were watching the event live from Marseille. You can view the video of the unveiling here.

After the unveiling, the team moved the prototype to the exhibit area on Quai Louis II, where it received many visitors - some famous, some anonymous - and lots of great feedback and encouragement.

Syroco speedcraft interest

At the end of a long day, the team and the prototype headed back to Marseille, where sea trials will soon begin. Stay tuned…

PS: many many thanks to all the Yacht Club staff who made this possible, to HSH the Prince Albert II for his enthusiasm, to Bernard d’Alessandri and Jeremie Lagarrigue for making the crew feel at home in Monaco and at the Challenge, and to all these who have supported Syroco so far and continue to do so!
