Syroco joins the board of Wind Ship Association to contribute to the development of more efficient and lower-impact maritime transportation
Marseille, March 23, 2022 - Syroco is a scientific and technical laboratory that generates innovation through pioneering feats, at the service of the energy transition in the field of maritime transportation. The startup has joined the board of Wind Ship Association, an organisation that supports the development of high-performance navigation with less impact.
Wind Ship is a French association created to accelerate the energy transition of the maritime industry through the development and deployment of wind-powered ships. The association acts to raise awareness of wind propulsion solutions and to improve market conditions in order to accelerate the implementation of projects. Wind Ship strengthens the national representation of wind propulsion so that it is fully considered as a pillar of decarbonization.
Syroco offers a decision support platform for optimising the performance and ecological impact of ships. Using the latest artificial intelligence and data technologies, the Syroco EfficientShip software platform is based on a Digital Twin of the ship. The use of this technology guarantees the neutrality of the calculations which are only influenced by data, laws of physics and simulation models.
“We have been able to appreciate the breadth and relevance of Wind Ship's work since its inception,” says Alex Caizergues, CEO and co-founder of Syroco. “Today, we are happy to contribute to the project, and to continue to work with the other members of the association and with the broader ecosystem of the energy transition of maritime transportation.”
“Through their work on dynamic simulation of the behaviour of ships and propulsion systems, Syroco brings to Wind Ship a deep expertise that will be very useful for the development of projects,” adds Florent Violain, President of Wind Ship. “We are very happy to welcome Syroco to our Board, and to be able to count on their support and commitment.”
